Cindy, I did read it chapter by chapter during that time, but I had the wrong viewpoint as I read. Changing viewing perspective has totally changed what I see. Isn't it wonderful to see God for who He says He is instead of who others said He was?

I guess by now, I shouldn't be so surprised to read yet another account where one becomes enlightened about the same truths I discovered, once I began reading the Bible chapter by chapter, book by book instead of by the piece-meal diet I was so used to.

It feels like being freed anew every time! I have to work at ridding myself of an old 'companion' who has walked with me for many years....guilt. He doesn't appear as often and doesn't stay as long, though.

The illustration of Lot and Abraham was not something that was taught to me. It was just an illustration of the type of thing that I might have taken from that passage. Sorry that I wasn't clear on that.

Spot on. I am finding out, as I read the blogs of others whom have broken free of this movement that I didn't really have it so bad. I just accepted everything as fact and then went ahead and lived a "sinful" life. My single mother was actually the one who took it all to heart which was cause for a lot of grief between us. But, all in all, coming to an understanding of true Christianity, while not getting burned myself and yet seeing many other lives destroyed by the incorrect version, is so refreshing.

I completely forgot about the Billy Boy G. idea of the story of Lot and Abraham. Thank you so much for writing.
